Long time no see! Come visit at an online event!

I've joined The Pink Elephant along with many other small businesses to have an online shopping event on Facebook.  You'll find all kinds of handcrafted items & the beauty is you can shop from the comfort of your own home.  Winter Slump Shopping Event Now - Feb 28

Many of the shops are offering special discounts to their shops during this event.  This includes me! My coupon code for this event is WINTERSLUMP & this is valid through Feb 28th.
I've added a lot of new stuff since my last post including stretchy bracelets and some beautiful bright yellow beaded earrings as well.

So please stop by and browse the event.  There's always a Birthday, Anniversary or other event to shop for & it's always fun to treat yourself.

Valentine's Day and Grand Re-Opening Etsy!

I decided to price down a special section of my store this past week.  I also decided to have a last minute Valentine's Day Sale.  So, anyone reading this, if you're looking for something special for Valentine's day.  I have some beautiful Genuine Swarovski Crystal earrings and bracelets as well as other items in my shop.

The special coupon code for my shop is VALENTINE for 20% off $20 or more.  That counts on the Sale items also so then you get a double discount woo hoo!

Have fun and browse .  The discount is valid through valentine's so Ladies, if you didn't get what you wanted, you have a little time to treat yourself lol.

The Assignment of Consignment

So, I've been reading about different ways to market your (my) craft.  Consignment is apparently one of them.  There are two stores here in the near vicinity that I know of so far.  One is super high end fashion and the other is more focused on furniture.  Super high end takes about 60% of the sale but they seem to have a better idea of how to display jewelry and items of that nature.  The other place takes 45% but it sounds like I'll be able to display jewelry on my own display cards to make them stand out and look nicer than what I saw.

What a conundrum.  So, that is my personal assignment for now.  My goal is to go make appointments as soon as I'm able to drive myself and see what the deal is and if they even accept my jewelry as a fit with their styles.

I want to be able to put up business cards and market my etsy shop but also have a place for people to be able to see my jewelry in person.  Let's see how it all goes :D.

Woo Hoo, More new stuff!

So, was able to take pics of bracelets and get them up last night.  Take a look!  Let me know what you think! :D  My favorite is the Sapphire blue and cobalt bracelet.  Blue is just a weakness of mine, what can I say?  Misa's Etsy Shop: MisaOrigamiLady

Grand Re-opening Sale

I've finally started getting some of my goals accomplished:
  • Twitter account activated
  • Etsy Followers Found
  • Instagram converted to @MisaOrigamiLady
  • Learning the whole "#" thing
  • Getting a minimum of inventory in the shop!
There's so much to do that does not involve making jewelry that it has started to make my head spin, but, I am taking it one day at a time and making small goals.

So far I have only focused on making earrings and I am going to be adding bracelets and necklaces next.  I already have a few made and just have to photograph them, oh yes, another goal:

  • Taking good photos

Be sure to check out my shop for the new additions and my Grand Re-Opening Sale section! Misa Origami Lady

      www.misaorigamilady.etsy.com is up!

So, I'm back in California and things haven't been as easy as I had hoped but things are moving along.  Being mobile with a broken ankle is slowing me down but I have gotten my etsy.com store up and running.  Check it out and feel free to give me any feedback/constructive criticism.  I am trying to get at least 1-2 pieces up per day and I'm joining an online sale event that starts on the 18th so I will post the flyer for that here on my blog and on facebook.  I don't have a lot of inventory in my shop but that's ok.  It will get some attention to my shop and any traffic will be nice I think.  There's only so much I can do at the moment.

I will have the boot on for about a few more weeks and then graduate to an ankle support that still has metal bars in the sides to prevent me from moving my ankle the wrong way BUT, by then I shouldn't have to use crutches.  We shall see how all that goes!  Wish me luck with all these things!

My Florida Adventure Comes To An End

Tomorrow morning I'll be heading back to California!  I am so excited and sad at the same time.  I'm looking forward to seeing my cats and my crafting room as well as sleeping in my own bed.

I've been having fun getting ready to re-open my shop:  getting twitter followers, filling out paperwork and playing facebook/etsy games like making treasuries.  The hard yet fun part is to come, the creating and the sales and marketing.  The marketing part has always been a challenge for me, but I feel ready to face it and "Just Do It".  I'm not one for New Year's resolutions, but I feel that I've changed and have goals that I want to achieve and plan on achieving.

So, here's to a new adventure in 2016.  Look out, here comes Misa Origami Lady!

Happy New Year Crafters and Jewelry Lovers!!!

Hope everyone is well.  It's been a whirlwind since I last posted.  I broke my ankle, I've been on a cruise to Bermuda, I am in Florida with my in-laws, and I'm suffering from crafting withdrawal symptoms.
I love my in-laws and Florida has been nice and warm compared to home, but I'm looking forward to being able to sleep in my own bed and play with my crafting supplies and actually get back to creating things.

Now, I'm not one for New Year's resolutions, but I do have a lot of goals for 2016.  I want to get my Etsy shop back up and running.  I'm planning on joining joining as a demonstrator for a business (which shall remain nameless until it's official) and also focus on my health.  Lots of things but I'm very focused.  I have been researching and downloading things nonstop while I've been laid up here in good ol' Florida.

Keep your bananas peeled for future developments.  I already have my new shop banner and logo up.  Here's a preview.

I will be posting items as soon as I get my licenses and everything straightened out in California.
